make music, give the gift of music

When you join Dallas Music Collective, you support our partner program Ubuntu Music Project, located in East Dallas. Ubuntu Music Project provides an after-school strings program at no cost to students. When you make music, you give the gift of music and transform the lives of children.

I decided to start playing the violin as an adult student, and it has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. I have made so many friends and built such a unique community through violin. I love Dallas Music Collective’s partnership with Ubuntu Music Project, providing after-school music for local students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play violin. Students’ lives are transformed through Ubuntu’s work—I love supporting them through the Dallas Music Collective.

I played the violin for over 14 years. When I was 20, I stopped playing and entered the world of business. For 25 years my violin case remained closed, and I missed playing so much. At first, I was afraid to play again-worried I would not sound good-but I was encouraged to play again, and I am so glad I did. Having music back in my life again has been an amazing gift. Music brings me so much happiness, joy, and amazing friendship. I am so grateful to have music back in my life!
